eJournalPress is a Rockville, MD-based software company that provides Peer Review and Production software to academic societies and scholarly publications. Our software helps ensure that some of the biggest discoveries in science are backed and reviewed by leading experts. We are currently filling a full-time opportunity for a Customer Support Specialist. While we are headquartered in Maryland, we are also interested in out-of-state candidates for a remote position.
 
Tasks include: 
• Create engaging and supportive relationships with high profile, prestigious clients 
• Work closely with new clients to configure and launch custom sites 
• Work closely with existing clients to facilitate software configuration changes and troubleshoot user issues and software defects 
• Educate clients on new sites and features through web conferences and client-facing documentation 
• Act as a liaison between the client and development department to scope software enhancements and to ensure continual system innovation and performance 
• Perform quality assurance on new sites, enhancements, and across multiple complex systems 
• Create and maintain software documentation 
• Become a SQL pro and craft custom reports and queries for client reporting and problem solving 
• Become a HTML and CSS pro to customize branding and the look and feel of client sites 
• Build interpersonal relationships to create and maintain positive communications and effective working relationships between eJournalPress teams, clients, and vendors 
 
Qualifications: 
Applicant must have: 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with little supervision 
• Proficiency in problem solving and ability to work with multiple resources to reach a solution 
• Strong sense of personal responsibility and eagerness to learn  
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Ability and comfort communicating via video calls, phone calls, and chat 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 
 
Applicant preferred, but not required, to have: 
• Customer Service experience  
• Technical background 
• Experience working in virtual teams  
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or other image editing tools 
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL
